An award-winning attending physician with Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, RI, Andrew C. Stone, MD, has close to two decades of medical experience in addiction medicine, internal medicine, and pulmonary medicine. An alumnus of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Dr. Andrew C. Stone has worked in numerous medical facilities.

Dr. Stone started his career at Providence VA Medical Center, where he served as an attending physician in the pulmonary and critical care units. Other related career assignments include Discovery House Northern Rhode Island, where he served as a physician (Addiction Medicine) and later became a medical director (full-time addiction medicine). Both positions were in Woonsocket, RI. Andrew C. Stone, MD, also served as a medical director (addiction medicine) in CODAC based in Providence, RI.

Due to his performance and passion for helping the underserved, Dr. Stone was named Volunteer of the Month at the Rhode Island Free Clinic in recognition of his efforts in providing free adult medical care. In 2018, Dr. Andrew C. Stone’s paper earned Honorable Mention: Best Overall in a submitted ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) Abstract. Dr. Stone also has in-depth teaching experience in various positions that include clinical instructor in Medicine at Brown University, lecturer in the Roger Williams Hospital IM Residency Program, and lecturer at the Brown University Psychiatry Residency Program, Annual Addiction lecture.
